Positive conversations with old and new friends. I'd love for you to join me on my back porch.

What interests you?
Up until now, I've thought about topics on this blog as something we might discuss on my back porch.
It occurred to me there may be topics you'd like to know more about. I'd like to hear from you.
One day I hope to travel to France. Would you like to learn French together?
Dis-moi qui tu frequentes, je te dirai qui tu es.
A man is known by the company he keeps.
OR we can try to talk sports. My favorite sport teams are Asbury Univeristy Men's Tennis Team, University of Georgia's football team, and University of Kentucky's basketball team.
The setting for my stories are Kentucky, North Carolina, and Georgia. I love the coast and would enjoy sharing some of my beach stories with you.
Have I shared the story about getting caught on the ocean floor and ended up in the ER?
Let me know what you think and leave a way for me to contact you. If I get ten comments on this post, I'll have a drawing for a $10.00 Panera gift card.
Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to hear what you think.

Well Jackie, you know I like to eat at Panera, so I hope you get lots of comments. In fact, I will FB and tweet this post even if that diminishes my chances! LOL
ReplyDeleteI know you love to travel like I do, so perhaps you could do a Tuesday Travels or something like that and you could post or even have guest posts! Just an idea. Take it or leave it as we always say!
Tuesday Travels, I love that idea. Thanks, Rose!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you post pictures of me, but I am slightly embarrassed by the awkwardness of the last picture. If you want to write more posts, you could do the ever popular throw back thursday (#tbt... all your twitter followers may enjoy that). You could talk about interesting stories from your past like the hook in the foot that your mentioned above.
ReplyDeleteThrow back Thursday. That could work. Thanks, Scott!
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie! I'll go to France with you if you'll go to Ireland with me! I giggled when I saw that you like the University of Kentucky's basketball team. My best friend lives in Bowling Green and is a die-hard Western Kentucky friend. I made the horrible mistake of accusing her of being a UK fan and was quickly corrected. I didn't know Kentucky was big enough for more than one college, lol! Anyway, we love tennis too. How awesome that your son plays. My husband begged my son to play all through high school (he was a state tennis champ) and he never did until he was a junior and then he loved it. Still makes me sad that he didn't start sooner.
ReplyDeleteScott started playing tennis is freshman year of high school and loved it. We've met a lot of great people through his tennis years.
DeleteI'd love to visit Ireland. So many great places and so little time.
I'm all for traveling France and Ireland with y'all as soon as I make some money doing this writing thing! I'd like to hear the beach stories. The beach is my happy place.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet,
ReplyDeleteThe beach is my happy place, too. But I still want to go to France one day. Maybe we can write a series together set in France and Ireland.
I've got lots of beach stories I can share.
Thanks for stopping by.
Getting caught on the ocean floor reminds me of Johnnie Erickson Tada. You are blessed not to suffer her injury.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to take a Seine River cruise. I've already done a Rhine cruise; that was so beautiful. I know a little bit of German, thanks to two years of college classes, but I don't have an ear for languages.
Hi Terri, thanks for stopping by. I bet that was a beautiful cruise. I think I'll include more travel posts after reading so many travel comments. I appreciate your comments.
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie, sorry I'm late stopping by! I love Scott's idea about Throw-back Thursday posts with a picture and story from your past.
ReplyDeleteAnd we should definitely do the France and Ireland tour! Sounds like the perfect trip. :) One day...
Hi Misty,
DeleteSo glad you could drop by. I'll try to dig through some old pictures and come up with fun stories.
Have a great evening!
I like the idea of learning French. Maybe you could do a French word of the week. I also like the idea of weekly travel stories. Vous pourriez apprendre le français, et après votre voyage en France, vous pourriez partager vos histoires de France en français! (You could learn French, and after your trip to France, you could share your stories from France in French!)
ReplyDeleteI love your idea, Katie. Maybe I can hire you to tutor me. Merci!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to France in three weeks!!! Can't wait!! But I don't speak French. I don't think I can learn in three weeks. Oh well. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great time and don't worry about not speaking French. We'd love for you to share about your trip with us sometime.
