The Vow is a romantic movie out now starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. The movie is about a young couple, Paige and Leo. After a car accident, Paige loses her memory. Leo is in love with her and committed to doing whatever it takes to help Paige.
This is not a religious movie, but you can't help think of the scripture, "and the greatest of these is love."
Leo makes many sacrifices throughout the movie to help his wife. I don't want to spoil this for you, but he is love in action. He puts Paige first time after time.
The Vow is a great movie to show true love.
And the thing that makes it even more special it that it's based on a real life couple.
It makes you stop and think how far would you go for the one you truly love?
One of my good friends has spent the last two years helping her husband recover from two back surgeries and double knee replacement. Would you be willing to do this?
If your loved one lost their memory, would you pull out scrap books and try to fill them in on what they missed?
Would you stick through the tough times if your spouse couldn't remember you?
Do you have something you do every day to show your spouse you love him/her?
Do you remember your first date?
If your child lost his/her memory would you be just as committed to helping them through the ordeal?
If you have a couple of hours to be truly touched, go see The Vow.
Positive conversations with old and new friends. I'd love for you to join me on my back porch.
