Merry Christmas
I hope you find time to enjoy your loved ones and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
Isaiah 9:6-7 New King James Version
6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
I plan to take a few days off and will be back on January 1. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Memories and Love
How do you decorate for Christmas?
Our house has an open floor concept, and each year I put the tree in a different spot trying to find the perfect place. Many of my ornaments have sentimental value. Some were given to me by friends, some the boys made in school, and some I bought on vacations.
Tim proposed to me at Christmas time. He asked me to come over one night after work to help him decorate his tree. As we were decorating, I reached up to a branch and found a small box. He told me to open it, and then he asked me to marry him. I'll never forget that Christmas. We got married on May 27 and have been together ever since. He is one more blessing in my life.
Take time to enjoy Christmas memories as you prepare for Jesus' birthday.

Lots to celebrate in December
Besides Christmas we have family birthdays to celebrate. Bill, Brooke, and Allie all have birthdays. This month Brooke turns 5, Allie turns 2, and I'm not going to mention how old Bill is. We are so blessed to have these sweet girls in our lives.
Besides Jesus' birthday, do you have other special days in December?

The lights of Christmas
I don't know the people who own this house, but on my way home after a long day at work, I drove by this house. The beauty brightened my evening and made me smile.
How about this angel with the star overhead?
At last I pulled into my driveway. Tim always does such a nice job with our outside lights.
I hope you find time to enjoy the lights of Christmas.

Going the extra mile
“The teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is not--Do your duty, but--Do what is not your duty. It is not your duty to go the second mile, to turn the other cheek, but Jesus says if we are His disciples we shall always do these things. There will be no spirit of--"Oh, well, I cannot do any more, I have been so misrepresented and misunderstood". . . Never look for right in the other man, but never cease to be right yourself. We are always looking for justice; the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is--Never look for justice, but never cease to live it.”
― Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest
Merriam Webster defines justice as, " the process or result of using laws to fairly judge and punish crimes and criminals."
Judge and punish. The Bible tells us not to judge others, and Oswald Chambers tells us to never look for justice.
Working with the public you learn very early that the customer is always right. I've learned to bite my tongue and care for customers whether I've agreed with them or not. Because I work in a pharmacy, we often go the extra mile to help a customer get their medicine even if we don't have it or if the insurance company won't pay for it.
When I'm shopping I try to show appreciation for good customer service. Tim laughs at me when we get a bad clerk or waiter because I consider it a challenge to make them smile. I'm not sure if this is what Jesus meant by turning the other cheek and going the extra mile, but if my actions help somebody else for even a moment, I'm happy.
How do you go the extra mile?

Kenny Rogers - Mary, Did You Know
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs, and I wanted to share it with you today as we start looking forward Christmas.
Let's don't forget the main reason we're celebrating.
