Fall in South Carolina

Spring used to be my favorite season with the beauty and signs of new life everywhere. I love living the the south, and I don't complain about the hot weather, but the cooler fall weather is like a breath of fresh air.

With the cooler weather, we've started riding our bikes again. We're able to ride through the neighborhoods and up and down Myrtle Avenue on Pawleys Island. Riding our bikes, we're able to pull over and enjoy the sights easier.



We ride with our helmets, and I pull over to take pictures. Enjoy!




Phillipians 4:8 says, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

The beauty around me is lovely. I enjoy and ponder God's glory and praise him.

Inside an Old Barn

I've shared before my fascination with barns. I grew up going into two of my Granddaddy Hubbard's barns, and I've been in a few others over the years.

Recently I was allowed to go into a barn that appeared to be falling down.




An old house on the property dated back to the late 1700s, and I wonder if this barn did too.

Part of the wood structure was not smooth boards but logs with the limbs trimmed off.




Whoever built this barn meant for it to last. It seems to be a catchall right now, but I wonder if a little bit of hard work would restore it to be functional. There is beauty in this old barn just like there is beauty in older adults. Let's take time to remember those who started out before us and look for the beauty in everybody.

The Beauty Around Us

Lexington, Kentucky has horses decorated and set up around the city. I've seen pigs in Cincinnati. But Mobile has The Oyster Trail.





If we'd had more time, it would have been fun to find more shells.

This was my third trip to Mobile for tennis, and every time I left longing for more. The architecture is beautiful. Both old homes and modern buildings.






I've got to share one last picture before leaving. When I spotted this fountain on our walk, I just had to stop and admire the beauty. No matter where you are today, I hope you find a moment to enjoy the beauty around you. Have a blessed day!
