Time Off

I'm going to take a few weeks off as we prepare to move. We're staying in South Carolina, but for many reasons we need to move to a different house.

I hope you all have a joyful spring, and the next time I blog it'll be from the backporch of my home in Pawleys Island.

Hebrews 10:36, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” (NIV)

Merriam Webster defines persevere like this:

Definition of persevere
intransitive verb : to persist in a state, enterprise, or undertaking in spite of counterinfluences, opposition, or discouragement

Once we understand God's will for our lives, our first decision is to follow or not follow.

Once we decide to follow, the path might not be easy, but we must persevere. Then we will know we're doing the will of God. In Hebrews we're not promised an easy life, hence the word persevere. Through the process of following despite opposition and discouragement, we'll grow closer to God. We might want success and glory, but nothing is more important than our relationship with the LORD.

If you're facing discouragement today, let me encourage you to persevere.
