Fun Flag of the Week

I came across this picture, and it was too sweet not to share.

This is from 1942, and the little boy is celebrating hs fifth birthday. The V on the side of the cake is for Victory in Europe and also the Roman Numeral for five. I love how patriotic the cake is. The little soldier is holding one flag and there are three more flags that I can see on this cake.

I hope you enjoy this moment of patriotism and nostalgia. In case you're wondering, this little boy is my dad, Richard Lutz. Have a great week!

For the University of Kentucky's first football game of the season, the American flag arrived in style.

I spotted this flag in North Carolina. The setting makes me want to sit down on the front porch with a big glass of sweet ice tea.

Flag of the Week

This week's flag flies proudly over Wesley Village in Wilmore, Kentucky. The village is home to many wonderful senior adults.

We moved to Kentucky in 1994 when the first shovel of dirt was dug at Wesley Village. They've come a long way in that time. The village is Kentucky's first CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community) and offers all levels of independent living and licensed health care in a wide variety homes and apartment settings.

They are a non-profit Christian community and host the first small home in the state. The village's mission is "Celebrating Life in Christian Love!"

I love this house. It's located on a North Carolina beach and it screams to me, "I love this place, and I'm ready for some summer fun.
